Double hung windows have two operable sashes that slide vertically, bottom-up and top-down, allowing for ventilation without sash swinging into the living space.
Most North American double hung windows are limited in performance because the narrow glass pockets of double hung windows cannot fit three pieces of glass in a triple-pane unit. Alpen, however, uses suspended film triple pane glass to achieve some of the highest thermal performances in the country, with NFRC full-window up to R-6 (U-0.17).
Alpen double hung windows are also easier to operate because Alpen’s suspended center “pane” is a weightless third layer.

Painted Finishes:
Alpen factory finishes are specially blended for excellent adhesion, abrasion resistance and hardness on fiberglass materials, ensuring Alpen windows will maintain a long-lasting beautiful finish.
Alpen double hung fiberglass windows are available in 5 beautiful, durable colors, or any custom color or split finish/two tone combinations.
Alpen’s use of a weightless center pane to create triple-pane performance allows us the unique advantage of having higher interior glass surface temperatures during NFRC design “winter” conditions. Higher interior glass surface temperature means less condensation and more comfort.
