Pulaski County Administration Building Project
Alpen’s high performance fiberglass windows installed at the Pulaski County Administration Building in Pulaski, Virginia, are evidence that historic preservation interests and energy efficiency improvements need not always stand at odds. The large window replacement project was funded by a variety of public and historic sources. 150 of the building’s original large single-pane wood windows were replaced with new Alpen 525 Series double hung windows.
Not only did the versatility and aesthetic qualities of Alpen fiberglass frames please historic preservation committee members, the USA-built Alpen windows also met the thermal performance goals for Federal, State and County government energy efficiency upgrade projects by using an advanced glazing system with suspended film and dual pane glass.
